About Kevin's Corr-ner

Sitting here in my TargetX cube, I started to feel like I was the only person in the office without a blog.

Dara's posting widgets. Adrienne has the tip. Ray's been sending out the e-mail minute since Al Gore invented the internet. Jeff is evangelizing the world. And Brian's got his TargetX blog, his family blog, the podcast, and who knows how many guest blog posts on other sites.

So I decided to get in the game with my own take on Higher Ed.

I'm excited to announce Kevin's Corr-ner (so punny!), a look at the world of Higher Ed through Corr-colored glasses (ie., expect to see many sidetracks into TV, music, movies, and whatever sort of strange happenings I am experiencing).

I hope you enjoy these posts! Please feel free to join in through comments -- maybe you've experienced the same thing; maybe you think I'm totally off. I look forward to the conversation.

Cheers,
Kevin

A Photo Tour of TargetX

Most of our clients don't get to visit us in person at TargetX HQ.

Though we do catch up with a lot of folks at conferences and workshops, the rest of the time we're just disembodied voices on the other end of a phone line, or worse, text on a screen.

So I decided to snap some quick candid shots of life in Suite 205 to show you where we are when you chat with us. Enjoy:

The Canalworks building in Bristol, PA. Home of TargetX. If you look closely at the window on t…

Sunday night in Philly Airport

Right now, it's 9:30pm on a Sunday and I am sitting in Philly airport -- my flight has been delayed.

Though I've been here for a few hours (chillin' to some tunes on my Ipod -- a little Guster has helped pass the time) and am getting travel weary without actually having traveled yet, I am excited to be heading down to the Small College Conference in Orlando.

If you're going to be there, stop by and say hi to Jeff Kallay and me.

Peace.

Adrienne may be cool, but Admissions is no fun(nel).

Most days in our office, I join the rest of the TargetXers in our little kitchen nook for lunch.

Over our Wawa shorties, we typically cover such stimulating topics as:

What can Bob do about the groundhogs in his garden?

(Shoot them!)…

Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned

I have a confession to make about RSS.

Even though I work for a technology company, even though our CEO Brian Niles has gadgets in his cubicle that won’t be released to the general public for another 5 years (the 6th Gen Iphones are gonna be sooooo sweet!), and even though I talk to clients regularly about RSS feeds – I have never set up my own reader.

Don't send your tour guides to meteorology school

Right now in Philly, we’re having a heat wave. According to the weatherman, yesterday’s high was a sweltering 97 degrees. Today, they expect the mercury to hit 98 degrees (anyone wanna invite me to their pool?).

Every time I watch the weather during extreme conditions, though, they say pretty much the same thing: “High today will reach 98, but it will feel like 102.”

Nick is moving to FL (last I heard) with his wife who is in Medical School yet.

Garland is now the Director of Admissions in our Medical School. I taught him what little I knew and he moved on.

Take care,
Mary

I'm enjoying looking around the knowledge center. It's helpful to see what conferences others are attending. I've also joined another community - learningtown.com, in case you'd like to check it out.
