Merge fields in email subjects

Hi Andrew:

Yes you can. You would apply the same logic in creating the merge field as you would when you create a merge field for the body of the message (put in a default value as appropriate).

One note: if you use the same merge field in both the subject line as well as the body of the message then the default value must be the same.

We have many clients who have merged in first name as well as other fields into the subject line with great success.
