Digital signage solution

Does anyone have a digital signage solution they'd like to share? We have a very low-tech PowerPoint system in place in our Admissions lobby, but we want to deliver high-quality content to our display over the web. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hey Andrew!

I just came across an article on campustechnology.com that talks about a new program that Sony is launching. Apparently they are going to give educational discounts on their projectors and other display technologies (including digital signage).

Here's the link:

Hope it helps in some way!

We just purchased a 36" flat screen TV & hooked it to a Mini-Mac which we run Keynote on for a Welcome Board/Digital Signage in our lobby.

That was my idea at first, but we were attempting to go with something over WLAN. Any pics of your lobby? Thanks!

Gotta LOVE a mac. I'm a total convert!

Sorry, no pics yet. We're doing a few more updates & then I'll post some. This was an easy solution for us that seems to be working so far - but we just put it up last week!

Sweet. I was advocating for Mac mini all along -- I actually made our Powerpoint on Keynote and the converted it. We have a VGA cable running through the wall -- YIKES.

Jodi,

We are definitely thinking of going in the Mac mini direction. Did you happen to have any photos of your setup you could share? Thanks!

Hi Andrew!
Our mac minis is actually hidden behind our screen so I'm not sure a photo would help.

The welcome screen is hung on a wall in the entry way of our building & the mac mini is physically behind it so no one can see it.

We remote into the computer to change the messasge/images/etc.
